Chris and Alyssa have been together for 4 years, they met in college 6 weeks before Chris graduated and started grad school. They couldn't imagine breaking up when he graduated college, so they were in a long distance relationship for 2 years before they both moved to Charlotte! They will be soon saying their “i do’s” at the Camellia Gardens in Monroe, North Carolina and I can’t even wait to be part of their big day!
When I asked Alyssa about the proposal, she said: “In September, Chris asked me to go on an "early morning hike" with him around a lake near our house (which was suspicious because he doesn't like early mornings!). When we got there, he actually took me on a boat out on the water which was so romantic! He suggested we get some lunch at a restaurant on the water and he proposed on the dock :) I gave him a big hug afterwards and looked over his shoulder and our families were walking down from the restaurant's porch! It was so, so lovely, but more than that, he is such a wonderful partner on a daily basis. I could not be more excited to marry him and spend our lives together!”
Can we all agree that it was so romantic and also SO thoughtful of Chris to bring both families to celebrate their engagement!? It just makes my heart so so so happy for them!
I met these cuties in Charlotte last week for their engagement session. It was a perfect day! We were so concerned about the weather because it was supposed to rain but it didn’t. It turned out to be a gorgeous day, with plenty of sunshine and we even found some beautiful blooms. We started the session at the Freedom Park, where there are so many different spots to photograph. We finished the session at the Marshall Park with some amazing city views! Alyssa and Chris killed it with their outfit choices. Because they had a 2 hours engagement session they could have a more casual outfit and a killer one. I was seriously so excited to spend the day with them and create some beautiful images that will remind them of this amazing and “short“ season of their lives, their engagement season. But that’s okay because they will have the rest of their lives to enjoy a better season of their lives, their marriage!
Chris and Alyssa, thank you for allowing me to capture your love and be part of your wedding day. I am so happy for you and I can’t wait to meet your families and friends very very soon!
Lots of love,
